ALPS Mountaineering Tri-Leg Stool - Rust

I bought this stool to carry in my motorcycle saddle bag. Fits perfectly in the saddle bag and comfortable to sit on while cleaning the bike or just resting.

ALPS Mountaineering Extreme 3 Tent

I originally thought I was ordering the extreme 3 outfitter tent instead of the regular extreme 3. I will give Camping Gear Outlet credit, though. When I contacted them about the mistake, they quickly resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I am pleased with my tent, seems very well made. It isn't too heavy or bulky to pack, sets up easy and is pretty stable in the wind. I really like the 3 pole design and the outside clips. I recommend purchasing a footprint (or use tyvek like I did).

ALPS Mountaineering Horizon Swivel Stool Max-4

It is tall, and sturdy. The seat is a little heavy, but for a 300 lbs, plus person like me a fair trade off for solid seat.

ALPS Mountaineering Extreme 3 Tent

Great tent for winter camping. The vestibule in back is large enough to cover an entire Jet-Sled (it can slide right out without unzipping anything). I keep the bottom 2 feet of the front vestibule zipped at all times. It's easy to unzip the top part of the vestibule, step into it, crouch, zip it up over your head, and then zip open the tent. I think the #10 zippers and better floor on this Outfitter model is worth the weight. I like how loops on the corners of the optional foot print can allow it to easily connect to the tent and fly.

ALPS Mountaineering Camp Chair Steele Blue

I have owned the ALPS chairs for four years. They are still the Best folding chairs I have ever owned. They are sturdy and light weight. I use them tailgating and other outdoor activities. Easy for older or heavy people to use. You can push up off the arms of the chair with no worries of the chair collapsing.

Have not used them very much yet,but so far they seem to be great chairs & well worth the money..

ALPS Mountaineering Outdoor Z Traverse 3300cu in Max-1 Camo

Had a little trouble finding it in stock except at Camping Gear Outlet. I bought this for Colorado archery Elk. Two different trips, this pack was great. I was able to strap my tree climber to it no problem, took about 2 minutes to strap it on and unstrap it. it easily carried all my gear, with comfort. At one point I packed in 8 miles then back out. The Traverse is comfortable, durable, light, versatile, I can't say enough good things about it.

About ALPS Mountaineering

ALPS Mountaineering

From Dennis Brune, Owner: I started ALPS Mountaineering, a small company located in rural east central Missouri, with the mission of "providing more gear for more people". We offer performance oriented packs, tents, sleeping bags, furniture & air pads. All of our products are “consumer designed” for comfortable enjoyable trips that have tough, durable construction for a lifetime of use, and while the products are great, the prices are even better. I have been working in the outdoor industry since 1978 in a variety of design, sales, and marketing positions. A lot of my prior outdoor experience came from running the Kelty brand, which also marketed packs, tents, and sleeping bags. In 1994, Brian, the oldest of our 3 children, was about to enter middle school, so I left Kelty because I wanted to have a more flexible schedule to allow me to be more involved in my family’s activities.

As our business has grown, so has our need for good, qualified staff members. We started filling those needs in 2003 when Brian graduated from college with his degree in marketing. While my intention never was to “only hire friends and family”, I continued the trend by next hiring my wife, LaRayne. When Adam, our second son, graduated in May of 2006, also with a degree in marketing, we also hired him. In the summer of 2006 we needed even more sales and marketing help, so we next hired our daughter-in-law, Sarah Beth. Our youngest child, Sarah Kristin, graduated from Mizzou in May of 2009 with her degree in communication, and we also said to her, “come on board!” As I’ve happily and very proudly told several people, we’ve “redefined the family business”. Of course we have plenty of “non-Brune” employees … Debbie, Karen, Phil, Sean, Laurie, Zach, Tracy, Jeff, Doug, Spencer … and we consider them to be part of our extended “business family”. While we believe in making exceptional products, we also think it’s equally important to have outstanding employees … and I can say that we’re doing a great job of both.

Regarding our products, the challenge we have is to convince you that we can deliver products that offer great designs, are loaded with plenty of features, are made with excellent quality … AND are also affordable. In our current economic situation, it’s extra important to evaluate all of our purchases. We think if you do your “homework” and fairly compare our products to those of our competitors, you’ll see we can offer you the best true value.
