I was the owner of an early version of the Droll Yankee Seed Scoop. It was made of clear plastic and was much thinner. I loved this scoop for over four years of very heavy use but it was damaged during two accidents...closed it in a door and sat on it(under a seat cushion). I diligently patched it with clear packing tape and it continued to be useful but had lost it's ability to perform at 100%. I now have this wonderful blue model. It's construction is stronger, it has a great flat spot molded into the "bottom of the horn" so even when it is full of seed it can be placed on the ground without spilling and the plastic seems to be smoother so scooping and pouring is improved. I thought the earlier version was perfect but Droll Yankee did some homework and made a near perfect seed scoop absolutely exceptional! Nothing on the market comes close and I have seen (and tried) most of them(I would not have continued patching my old one if there was any other brands that performed better). BRAVO Droll Yankees!
