Waterproof Liner for Cargo Carriers

Car top carrier liner system fits inside cargo carriers and protects your gear from any water that may seep inside. The liner fits inside the Classic like one grocery bag in another, and is held in place by Velcro. This combo makes the most waterproof car top carrier on the market. Recommended if you pack cloths, sleeping bags, and expect to drive in bad weather. Color Black. Made of nylon tafetta (just like most umbrellas) with sealed seams. We found this liner will also work with our Sport and other soft sided car top carriers as well. READ ON. Placing this liner inside just about any car top carrier bag and closing it with velcro and small cord, will make it all but impossible for water to get to your gear. Our liner's shape and opening may not be exactly like your carrier or our Sport, but it is very large, flexible, and easy to load. Simply set the liner upright in any car top carrier bag, load it, then close the top. Zip up your carrier and you have a totally waterproof carrier. Fits most carriers up to 17 cu feet. Aprox. 37" wide x 18" high x 45" long. Here is how it works. The outer carrier takes the brunt of the water and wind force. If any water leaks in, the inner liner stops any water from getting to your gear. Our liner has velcro over PART of the opening. You may tie it off more completely with a string or rubber band. In any event the combination will keep your gear dry.

Waterproof, weather resistant what's the deal? There are technical definitions, but for us it means driving your car for hours at highway speed in a fierce rain storm and your gear stays dry in a car top carrier. Weather resistant is a cop out. If you read 'weather resistant' on any car top carrier product, know your stuff is going to get wet. Waterproof... many car top carrier companies lie. Plastic material or simply a flap over the zipper won't keep the water out. LakelandGear uses the fold and bed closure with Classic, just like white water rafting bags. We use ZipRight in the Sport, a special urethane coated zipper located in the flap, not under it. We offer liners with taped seams. We know some water may get into our stitched bags. Our carriers take the force of 70mph rain, the liner inside protects gear from any water that may seep in. It works we know it from testing. We also offer carriers with RF welded seams and heavy tarpaulin material. That keeps water out, but only because we pair it with urethane coated dual zipper systems. NOBODY makes waterproof carriers as well as we do. Some compare our carrier systems to a duck's butt in a pond "no water gets in."
