My Favorite Campground, New Waverly, Texas
"This campground is way different. It's way out in the country and somewhat hard to find just off I-45 in New Waverly, TX, which is just north of Houston. It is so peaceful and quiet. I took my dog for a walk this morning and all I heard was her breathing!" ~ James Lewis Read more More campground photos

Guiness-Cakes Camping Recipe of the Week The beer gives the pancakes a sourdough flavor and a very nice texture.
Guiness-Cakes - submitted by Loni Andregg: "The first time I made this for a campsite full of friends, they went nuts! Of course, the alcohol cooks out, so they can be made for your family. I make them small, so they can be eaten with the fingers, dipping them into a bowl of syrup or cooked fruit." More camping recipes Over 500 recipes from fellow campers. Which Sleeper Are You? I like a quiet campground, so that I can enjoy sleeping while away from the noise and distractions of daily life. Since there are no computers, TVs, telephones or refrigerators, what else is there to do at night? I am usually early to bed and early to rise. However, there are days when I hike too far, or fish too hard, or stay up too late around the campfire that I find myself sleeping well past sunrise.
